Children die needlessly in developing countries
UNICEF's annual publication, the organisation noted that newborn babies in these countries "die needlessly''.It said that the publication focused on ``maternal and newborn health,'' owing to the global concern the issue had been generating.  The publication is reportedly UNICEF's flagship publication on the situation of children throughout the world. It is an advocacy tool, which calls for action in areas of children's rights that are not being met. It is the most comprehensive survey of global trends affecting children and provides the most up-to-date statistical data on children. The State of the World's Children Report is used globally by governments, NGOs, the media and institutions as the authority on childhood.
