Cross River gets 6,000 mosquito nets
Insecticide Scale Up Workshop for 12 focal states.Ugot commended the implementing partners for their effort in actualising the workshop, saying that this would build capacity in the campaign against malaria. '' The workshop is a pre-implementation training for the 12 states involved in the share of the 20 million mosquito nets which the state has taken lead, with the largest quantity of distribution of 6,000 nets,'' he said.In her remarks,Chioma Amajoh, Deputy Director, National Malaria Control Programme,  commended the state government's effort at ensuring that malaria was eradicated. Amajoh, who described  the workshop as a capacity development tool, said total elimination of malaria by 2013 would be achieved through effective sensitisation of the populace.Also speaking, Mrs Cardinme Vandeuck, the representative of the implementing partners and Programme Director, UK Malaria Programme, said the workshop was necessary considering the many deaths caused by malaria.
